We are seeking a seasoned editor who can help manage a growing team of reporters and oversee their work. The ideal candidate would have experience shaping stories to make them resonate and the editing chops to make copy shine.
This is a position that can be based in Noida or Mumbai.
What you will do:
● Help manage a national team
● Steer the daily news file on deadline
● Make decisions on pitches during daily edit meetings
● Oversee digital video edits to make stories stronger
● Potentially recast and refocus scripts
● Craft snappy headlines and posts for social media
● Grow Brut India’s reach and brand using data insights
What we’re looking for:
● Rock-solid news judgement to jump on a story quickly
● Newsroom experience managing a team
● Experience commissioning stories to stay ahead of the news curve
● Good grasp of digital video script structure
● Proven ability writing razor-sharp headlines
● Experience working in a newsroom will be an advantage
● Masterful command of grammar without sounding stilted
● Ability to multitask and work under pressure
● Working knowledge of social discovery and data analytics in video
● Attention to detail and accuracy a must
